Age-Critical Long Erasure Coding-CCSDS File Delivery Protocol for Dual-Hop S-IoT

The upcoming satellite Internet of Things (S-IoT) can provide status updates relaying for ground user equipment (UE). However, the S-IoT cannot utilize conventional hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) reliable transmission due to high bit error rate (BER) and long propagation latency. consultative committee space data systems (CCSDS) has proposed CCSDS file delivery protocol (CFDP) relieve latency, CFDP utilizes guarantee reliability. In this paper, we propose two age-critical erasure coding-CFDP (LEC-CFDP) schemes realize dual-hop timely in via a relay over shadowed Rician (SR) fading channel, where destination select deferred or asynchronous mode adjust number inserted LEC packets, called D-LEC A-LEC CFDP, respectively. Further, half-duplex full-duplex mode, i.e., LEC-h LEC-f forward packets destination. We derive close-form expression peak age information (PAoI) an approximation expected end-to-end delay D-LEC-f scheme. Moreover, A-LEC-f scheme further improve PAoI, model it as partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP) problem, which be solved by low complexity Point-based Informed Bound (PIB) algorithm. Simulation results verify accuracy theoretical derivations, illustrate that achieve lower PAoI comparison with existing schemes.
